ITINERARY DESCRIPTION:

Day 1: VANCOUVER

Welcome to Vancouver. Upon arrival at Vancouver International Airport, transfer independently to your hotel where you will meet your  Tour Director.

 

Day 2: VANCOUVER (VICTORIA ISLAND OPTIONAL)

A full day at leisure provides ample time to take in Vancouver's sights and attractions, or to take a ferry across the island-dotted Strait of Georgia to Victoria Island. The capital city of British Columbia, Victoria is a unique blend of old world charm and new world experiences. Combined with the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and rainforests set against a backdrop of the Olympic Mountains, a visit to Victoria makes for the perfect day trip.

 

Day 3: VANCOUVER – SEATTLE

Today's journey takes you across the Canada/U.S. border to the jewel of the Pacific Northwest, Seattle. Set on the waterfront and framed by snowcapped mountains, Seattle is a sophisticated city that offers visitors a real sampling of Northwest life. The Downtown Seattle Waterfront is a great place to take in the views of Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains, and no visit would be complete without strolling through the grounds at the Seattle Center and checking out the spectacular view from the Space Needle's 520-foot high observation deck

 

Day 4: SEATTLE - MT. RAINIER - MT. ST. HELENS - PORTLAND

Depart this morning for Portland, Oregon's largest city and one of the world's best walking cities. En route, visit Mount Rainier National Park and Mount St. Helens, both active volcanoes and part of the Northwest's "ring of fire." Ascending to 14,410 feet above sea level and often shrouded in clouds, Mount Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous U.S. and stands as an icon in the Washington landscape.

 

Day 5: PORTLAND - NEWPORT - OREGON DUNES - COOS BAY

Today, enjoy a scenic drive along Oregon's coastline where spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding forests await. Travel south through Newport and the heart of the central coast to Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. Extending for over 40 miles, Oregon Dunes features wind-sculpted sand dunes that tower up to 500 feet above sea level.

 

Day 6: COOS BAY - REDWOOD NATIONAL PARK - EUREKA

Continuing south, the rugged Oregon coastline offers stunning views, endless beaches, crashing waves and beautiful lighthouses; while California's spectacular Redwood Coast offers sparkling beaches, cascading rivers, quiet countryside, historic communities and a forest as old as the dinosaurs. Nearly half of the remaining old growth redwoods can be found in Redwood National Park, including giants five stories taller than the Statue of Liberty.

 

Day 7: EUREKA – SONOMA

Today, pass through the unbelievably picturesque Village of Mendocino, recently designated a Preserve America Community; where every structure speaks of history, en route to Northern California's Wine Country. Home to perfect grape-growing conditions, dazzling displays of color as the seasons change and a Mediterranean climate, this region possess some of the most famous wineries in the world.

 

Day 8: SONOMA - SAN FRANCISCO

This morning, cross the Golden Gate Bridge, an engineering marvel and one of the most beloved bridges in the world, before arriving in San Francisco.

 

Day 9: SAN FRANCISCO DEPARTURE

Enjoy free time to explore San Francisco before transfering independantly to the airport for your departure flight.
